A Nigerian donut brand is building a flavour universe that goes well beyond the usual glazed, chocolate, and filled favourites.
A donut can be glazed. Filled. Covered in chin chin. Built around zobo. Given a suya twist. Or turned into breakfast.
So how many ways can you actually make one?
That is the question behind Donut Factory, an emerging Nigerian food brand building an expanding universe of donut flavours, combinations and limited drops.
The first 30 variants are planned for the brand’s physical launch in March 2027, but the bigger ambition is more interesting.
More than 250 flavours and variants over time.
And Donut Factory is already accepting orders while it prepares for the physical launch.
Why Spottr is watching
Donut Factory is exactly the kind of business Spottr’s Emerging Brands category exists to discover.
There are businesses already selling products people would love if they knew about them. There are brands preparing to launch something new. There are products being built around ideas that have not quite reached the mainstream yet.
Spottr brings those businesses into one discovery experience.
You get to understand what the brand is building, see what makes it different, discover its products and, where available, find where to get them.
For brands, it is another way to get discovered by customers, retailers, partners and people looking for something new.
Donut Factory happens to be a very tasty example.

Building a donut universe
Most donut businesses settle around a handful of dependable flavours. Donut Factory is taking a different approach.
Its product system can combine different doughs, formats, fillings, coatings, textures, signatures and finishes to keep creating new combinations without having to reinvent the entire product every time.
And the first 30 already show where the idea can go.
Factory Classics
The familiar starting point: Glazed, Chocolate Glaze, Vanilla Custard, Cookies & Cream, Salted Caramel and Red Velvet.
Naija Flavours
Familiar Nigerian tastes translated into donut form: Chin Chin, Zobo, Malt, Groundnut, Coconut Candy and Custard & Jam.
Sweet + Strange
This is where things start getting interesting.
Suya Honey. Plantain Caramel. Brown Butter Banana. Coffee & Cream. Pepper Chocolate.
Savoury Factory
Because there is no rule that says a donut has to be sweet.
Egg & Sausage. Cheese & Pepper. Pepper Chicken. Suya Beef.
The point is not to make every donut unusual. It is to make the menu capable of becoming unusual.
Nigerian flavours without forcing the Nigerian angle
There is an easy trap for a Nigerian food brand. Make everything Nigerian.
Donut Factory does not need to do that. The more interesting opportunity is using familiar Nigerian flavours as part of a much bigger product vocabulary.
- Groundnut becomes groundnut cream with roasted peanut crunch.
- Chin chin becomes a texture.
- Plantain meets caramel.
- Zobo brings hibiscus and acidity.
- Suya gets paired with honey.
The Nigerian influence becomes part of the experimentation, not the entire personality of the brand.
That leaves room for classics, international flavours, strange combinations and whatever the Factory comes up with next.

30 first. 250 plus eventually.
The first 30 variants are not meant to sit permanently on one menu. Some can become staples. Some can become seasonal releases. Some can appear as limited drops. Others may eventually disappear into The Archive, waiting for another reason to return.
The Factory Lab
This is where the wider flavour universe gets developed and tested before deciding what deserves a place on the actual menu.
But the experimentation does not have to come only from the people inside Donut Factory. The team plans to let customers submit flavour ideas and eventually order those creations. If an idea works, it can earn a place on the menu.
And there is another reason to take that seriously.
When a customer’s flavour idea makes it onto the menu, the creator can earn royalties for as long as that flavour stays on the menu.
The exact royalty structure will be announced when Donut Factory begins accepting flavour ideas.
The brand also plans to collaborate with chefs on selected flavours, bringing outside culinary thinking into the Factory and creating products that may never have come from the core menu.
That changes what 250 plus actually means.
It is not simply a target for how many flavours the team can invent. It becomes a growing catalogue shaped by the Factory, its customers, its collaborators and the people who keep asking: What if you tried this?
How it compares
| Price | What is different | |
|---|---|---|
| Donut Factory | See current listing | Built around an expanding flavour system, customer ideas, collaborations and limited drops |
| Krispy Kreme | Varies | Established international donut brand with a broad retail footprint |
| Licious Desserts | Varies | Lagos dessert business with donuts alongside a wider dessert offering |
| Spottr pick | See listing | Donut Factory for its product experimentation and customer-driven flavour concept |
The comparison is not about saying one brand is universally better than another. It is about helping you understand what you are actually choosing.
Donut Factory’s strongest point of difference is not simply that it has unusual flavours. That matters because it exposes customers to new tastes, textures and surprises. But more importantly, those flavours can take a familiar product and open up a whole new palate of tastes and combinations.
A donut business with room to grow
The immediate journey is straightforward.
- Orders first.
- Physical launch in March 2027.
Then more delivery, retail opportunities, collaborations and new releases as the brand grows.
- A customer idea can become a limited drop.
- A chef collaboration can become a seasonal release.
- A flavour that people love can return from the Archive.
- A familiar Nigerian flavour can become something completely new.
That gives Donut Factory room to keep moving without constantly starting from scratch.
Discover it. Then find it.
Discovering a brand is only the beginning.
Spottr’s Discover feature helps connect products with the places where people can actually find them.
This means you no longer have to go back to social media to find a post or bookmark, copy a store address and open Google Maps, click a link in bio, dial a contact number, or repeat any of the long list of steps you went through yesterday just to find a brand or its outlets.
Today, on Spottr, you simply click the brand badge and the app shows you the outlets that actually sell the products you want.
As Donut Factory grows, opens more outlets, and gets more retailers to stock its products, its presence on Spottr grows with it. So when you want to find the nearest Donut Factory outlet, you do not have to start searching again. Just click the brand badge on Spottr and see every Donut Factory outlet in one place – updated in real time.
Discover the brand. Find the product. Find where to get it. That is the bigger idea behind Emerging Brands. Discovery should not end when you finish reading.

Spottr Team Score
Donut Factory scores strongly for distinctiveness because the product system gives the brand unusual room to experiment. Taste and overall quality are promising based on the products tested so far, while accessibility and consistency still have more to prove as the brand moves into physical launch and wider availability.
The founder
Donut Factory was started by Tobi Adebayo in Lagos with the idea of turning one familiar product into a much bigger playground for experimentation.
The ambition is not to make the most donuts. It is to keep finding new ways to make one.
More emerging brands to discover
Donut Factory is one of the businesses Spottr is watching because the product gives people a reason to stop, look twice and ask what comes next. That is what the Emerging Brands category is about.
- New products.
- Interesting businesses.
- Brands worth knowing before everybody knows them.

Donut Factory is already accepting orders while it works towards its physical launch in March 2027.
The first 30 variants are only the beginning. There are potentially hundreds more waiting inside the Factory. And some of them might come from you.
The real question is not whether you like donuts. It is how many you are willing to try.
